One of Market 166’s most exciting days each year is our annual owners meeting. It’s a time when we get to report on new developments at the co-op, including the many projects our board and volunteers have worked on during the previous year, and even more importantly, it’s a time when owners get to come together to give input and socialize.
2025’s owner meeting was held at ArtsXchange Community Cultural Center in East Point (site of our 2023 meeting as well!). ArtsXchange is such a special part of the East Point community, and we are so grateful to be able to host events there from time to time. The energy in the building is palpable. We’re very thankful to them for their hospitality, and we implore you to visit some time!
For Market 166, 2025 was the one year anniversary of the Mini-Market at Atlanta Utility Works and a year of successful grant writing, so these were the major topics at the meeting. Mini Market Committee member Lowery Parker gave a thoughtful update on the mini market, and then we discussed the THREE grants the co-op was awarded in 2025! We had a robust discussion about grant fund uses, including an input session supporting our store vision development with seven roots group.
We would be remiss if we failed to mention the catered lunch from Life Bistro on Sylvan Road. Their fried oyster mushrooms are addictive.
Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting. Market 166 is nothing without its owners. Please continue to stay involved!
